Client Rights at SLP Fusion

At SLP Fusion, we are committed to providing high-quality, family-centered pediatric speech and language services in St. Louis, Missouri. We believe every child and family deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and transparency throughout their care journey. The following Client Rights are based on guidance from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and reflect our dedication to ethical, accessible, and effective service.

Your Rights as a Client and Family

  • Right to Dignity and Respect
    You and your child have the right to be treated with courtesy, compassion, and respect in all interactions with SLP Fusion staff and providers.

  • Right to Effective Communication
    Every child has the right to meaningful, culturally and linguistically appropriate communication support, including access to augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) if needed.

  • Right to Information
    You have the right to receive clear, understandable information about your child’s evaluation results, diagnosis, recommended services, and potential outcomes.

  • Right to Participate in Decisions
    Families have the right to participate in developing individualized goals and choosing among available service options for their child.

  • Right to Privacy and Confidentiality
    Your family's personal and health information will be protected in accordance with HIPAA and state laws. You may request access to your child’s records at any time.

  • Right to Informed Consent
    You have the right to receive information about the benefits, risks, and alternatives to recommended services, and to give or withhold consent before any evaluation or treatment begins.

  • Right to Accept or Decline Services
    You may accept or refuse recommended services, as permitted by law, and have the right to be informed of the potential consequences of such decisions.

  • Right to Raise Concerns or Complaints
    You have the right to express concerns or file complaints about your child’s care without fear of retaliation, and to receive information about how those concerns will be addressed.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination
    SLP Fusion does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity, religion, or any other protected status in the provision of services. Every child and family has the right to receive care and services in an environment free from discrimination, harassment, or bias.

  • Right to Access Accommodations
    You have the right to request reasonable accommodations to support your child’s access to services, including language assistance or accessibility modifications.
